Bomber Burning

"Bomber Burning"

Did I ever tell you the one about how my Texas bomber burnt?  Father who never told me he listened to any of Mother's music told me a funny one.  He was a medic stationed in Texas in the army during World War II.  He used to shoot rattlesnakes in the desert for kicks with his army buddies.  We once flew a model airplane propelled by gasoline in my backyard.  Something went wrong and it started burning.  I asked him what the most horrible thing he saw in the war was, late one night, many years later in Palm Beach.  He told me it was seeing a plane coming in to land that was on fire.
