Distorted Faces

                                  "Distorted Faces"

It's not reported or recorded.

The townspeople's faces are so much alike that it's strange.

They all seem to be strange and different in a weird world.

Fifteen hundred more troops are being deployed to Iraq.

To make a grand total of three thousand never promised.

Not even asked for.

They will be there to train and call in air strikes.

Without so much as lifting a finger.

Remember when Bush had a shoe thrown at him?

Thousands of shoes flying in the air.

But look at the strange faces.

Not the weird places you will see them at.

A tit for a tat.

I smell a rat.

There goes a billion dollars of government fat.

I'm told by the Time's reporter that it's no threat.

But it won't be any kind of candy treat.

I have a sweet Mary Jane that will keep me sane.

That's nobody's shame.

A real time for the compromised past.

Always speeding and coming down fast.

Watch that starboard mast.

Stars above and S.A.R.'s, Ebola, and Influenza coming at last.

They are not airborne but could mutate.

Turning the Earth's Hotel into a flood's gate with a warming.

Not so popular a warning.

In the midnight's daybreak of morning.

The country must mourn for all its first new born.
